The main reasons for the odor of floor drains are as follows
1 Water trap or water seal issues
If the floor drain is not equipped with a U-shaped trap or the water seal height is insufficient (less than 50mm), the foul odor from the sewer will flow back into the room through the pipeline. Dry water seals (such as long-term disuse or poor drainage) can also lead to the failure of odor control.
2 Pipeline blockage or poor drainage
Blockage of drainage pipes can cause sewage to accumulate and ferment, resulting in unpleasant odors. Poor water flow can also exacerbate the accumulation of dirt.
3 Insufficient cleaning
Long term uncleaned floor drains can leave behind organic matter such as hair and soap foam, which can decay and emit a foul odor in humid environments.
4 Floor drain aging or installation issues
Aging of the sealing ring, excessive clearance between the installation and the pipeline, or low position of the floor drain can all cause water accumulation, which may lead to odor.
5 Biological reproduction
Bacteria and microorganisms are prone to breed in humid environments, further producing odors.
